Giving overlooked stories a voice.
About Me
I’m Marti Hines, an award-winning filmmaker, experiential entrepreneur, and unapologetic advocate for voices that go unseen.
Whether I’m behind the camera, producing powerful partnerships, or creating space for real conversations, I lead with one belief: storytelling isn’t just what I do. It’s how I change the world around me.
My work lives at the intersection
of creativity and care.
Healing doesn’t happen in silence, and change doesn’t happen without storytelling. I create what I needed but couldn’t find: bold, unfiltered spaces where people are allowed to be whole. Where pain has a voice. Where joy isn’t a footnote, and where community isn’t just supportive, it’s transformative.
This isn’t about one diagnosis, one title, or one lane. It’s about refusing to shrink in the face of what tries to erase us. It’s about building, creating, and showing up anyway. This is a life’s work, and it’s meant to be shared.
The Filmmaker
Director. Producer. Creative force.
From indie circuits to global platforms, my films center the stories most people overlook. I’ve brought narratives to life through die Expats, which I shot in Berlin and is now streaming on Amazon Prime, and Paper Friends, my celebration of friendship that currently airs on BETHer. Now, I’m diving into my most personal project, All in My Head, a feature documentary exploring what it means to live with MS as a Black woman. This work is about more than film. It’s about making the invisible, visible.
The Entrepreneur
Founder. Curator. Connector.
I turn ideas into impact by building platforms that blend storytelling, community, and joy. I launched The H Collective, a nonprofit rooted in care and advocacy for people living with chronic illness. I created Merit Haven to produce experiences that spark connection through brand partnerships, private screenings, and curated events. And as a certified Disney travel specialist, I help families and businesses create unforgettable getaways, because magic belongs in every chapter of life.
The Voice
Speaker. Storyteller. Advocate.
My voice lives where truth meets vulnerability, on stages, in interviews, and through my podcast Grace Through Pain. I speak about the realities of chronic illness, the gaps in our healthcare system, and what it means to be visible in a world that often looks away. But it’s not just about illness, it’s about identity, resilience, and reclaiming space. Whether I’m sharing my story or creating space for others to share theirs, this work is rooted in connection, healing, and the power of being fully seen.
Whether you’re here to collaborate, amplify, fund, share, or just listen, you’re part of this movement. Every connection, conversation, and contribution helps bring these stories to life and makes the unseen impossible to ignore.
